Elementsoul sat at the edge of the small stream that trickled pass here. He stared and closed his eyes as a sweet breeze tugged at his fur.
Shackledora came up beside him and sat down. "It is odd, don't you think? No battles lately..."

A black she-cat with clover emerald eyes. Her short fur ruffled slightly and her paws seemed to sink in the wetter areas or the earth. Her lashing tail made no sound and her eyes fixed on watching the pebbles move in the current, "Why the need for battles? It's hard enough to survive with The Spikes around, I think our leaders do best to already keep civil peace."
her usually cold voice was a little softer, her paw was swaying in th current. She pawed some pebbles, but never moved her gaze or poise.

Elementsoul shrugged. "Yes, it is harder with the spikes, but it seems so quiet from the other clans..." he said quietly. "Don't you think it's a little... Odd?" he asked the black she-cat.

"I guess, It kinda is, especially since we have lots of the evil clans, bands and rogues around here." She looked up at the sky momentarily, then back at the stream. "I wonder what will happen, but you must know how bad these Spikes really are, not just little murderers. 5 generations of mine ago was once a Spike, and she broke that curse but it drove her insane until they killed her. Good thing she had 2 kits, or the family tree wouldn't lead to me. How much do you know about them?"

Elementsoul narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?" he asked, not answering her question.

"Me? I am Nightshadow, and you are Elementsoul and Shackledora!" She had a small chuckle, but she still was cold and stone serious. Her gaze, still fixed on the stream in front of her. She softly whispered a reply they could both hear, "I answered yours, you now must answer mine, How much do you really know about the Spikes?" she sounded more serious and a little threatening. However there was no hint of demanding.

Elementsoul's eyes widened. He had forgot about Nightshadow. "I don't know much, only that there dangerous and can kill before you even know whats going on."

"Oh yes, they are going to start hunting soon, it's getting warmer, I have worries. We are strong, but they are stronger. I'm not sure what will happen this year, but watch this stream it tells you ever-" she was cut off, it wasn't clear anymore but a runny pinkish red and it spread like a disease. "Quick get moss! Now!" she started soaking up the infected water quickly with what she could find, fishing it out and taking the blood out.
She caught a head of a yellow tom cat's head and got most of the blood. "This is why I watch the stream whenever I can, you'd watch it too if you ever saw one Spike. They haven't attacked us this past year, so you wouldn't have known of them, but I have seen them more than plenty."
She lifted onto her hind legs, showing great monstrous claw marks down her chest and stomach, and where the fur would never grow back, scars down the inner hind legs and the cuts under her front arms. "Now you know why I also didn't seem to leave the medicine den last year." Her frosted gazed was cold but still warmth was hidden in there. "More than monsters," she whispered as she lowered to the ground looking at young Lionpaw. "He never deserved to die this way, this was the day I'd get Quarterstar to name him.
She sat down at the head of her former apprentice and the bloody wet moss. She dug some holes and placed the moss in, and she would take the head to the leader. "Help me back to the camp for a funeral" She murmured, not hoping this great day would be the day the Spike would arise again. Yet she made no attempt to retrieve the body?
