history;the pregnancy was harsh. the medicine cat stared, helpless, as the kittens were born. he had already given Seaglade various herbs that would help her give birth to the kits. however, he noticed something was wrong as she gave birth to the kittens. three small, angelic bodies were close to one another - and at first glance, they were all normal. stepping closer and licking them clean, he noticed the last born was inching towards her mother's stomach at an unreasonably slow pace, even for a young kitten. stepping closer to inspect, his ears pricked and he peered at the kitten's front right leg. or lack thereof. he looked at seaglade, speechless.
the mother merely shrugged. "t'was my punishment for visiting my mate, after he was so unfairly exiled."[/b]
faunadrop's mother was mate of the used-to-be senior warrior, coreclaw. coreclaw had been exiled after he was caught 'scheming' with the other clans at gatherings, causing their clan to be terribly hurt after a recent attack. however, faunadrop had still loved him, even despite the almost complete proof that was there that he had planned the whole thing to begin with. as such, she was found to be carrying his kits a few days after he had been exiled to wander the lands.
so it was no surprise that every week during her pregnancy. she loved chatting with the exiled warrior, who said that he would leave to another clan after she had given birth to the kittens - and then, they would see each other at gatherings. he would take a false name, but only so he could see his lovely seaglade - who without, he would surely pass away. and so, it was with pleasure that he continued to see him.
unknowingly to her, this was damaging the kits that she would be giving birth to - the foolish nature of walking with growing kits in her belly was one she ignored for the sake of seeing her mate. so it was no surprise that when she was born, two out of the three had defects. one of them was blind in one eye, and the other one was absent of her leg.
the healthy one was named corekit, after his father. the second, the half-blind, was named frondkit. and the last, the front-leg-lacking she-cat, was named faunakit.
"Corekit, Frondkit, wait up!" cried the ginger and brown tabby spotted she-cat, her blue-turning-green eyes glistening with pain and exhaust. she couldn't keep up much longer, and they were merely running around, throwing disgusting taunts at her. her dark tabby brother with his gleaming copper eyes laughed with disgust; frondkit did so too, but with more hesitance in his voice.
"you stupid she-cat! nobody cares about you! or the lack of your stupid leg! it wont always be getting you pampered, useless thing." Corekit's voice was a snarl and with a flick of his brown tail, he finished with a low hiss. "it'll get you killed, and i'll be glad to see that."
"Y-yeah!" Frondkit agreed, although he really had no clue what was happening - through his dopey smile at faunakit, he thought that he was complimenting her. stupid.
with tears in her eyes, faunakit let out a huff. "I hate you too..." she whispered, to them both. frondkit looked truly hurt, but corekit only let out a snort.
without a front leg, faunakit's mother always pampered her more than the others. when her brothers had to walk somewhere, faunakit was always pitied because of her
